Donation to the “Kinderreich im Paradies” after-school club
What can be done when the outdoor area of a children’s centre is barely usable any more after decades of use and a devastating spell of heavy rain? The ‘Kinderreich im Paradies’ after-school care centre, run by the Blomberg branch of the German Child Protection Association (Deutscher Kinderschutzbund e.V.), is facing precisely this challenge. We have therefore made a donation of 2,500 euros – thereby sending a clear signal about the importance of social institutions in the region.
One of the last of its kind
The “Kinderreich im Paradies” after-school care centre isone of the few remaining after-school care centres in the region. Currently, around 50 children and young people aged between 6 and 14 are looked after there. The centre sees itself not merely as a homework support service, but as a socio-educational facility that complements family life, with its own independent educational and upbringing remit.
Heavy rain and dilapidated facilities call for action
In particular, the centre’s outdoor area is to be transformed once again into a genuine place for children to play and explore. Plans include a new activity circuit, climbing structures, quiet corners and a new water play area. The existing facilities are no longer usable following decades of use and the effects of heavy rainfall.
Customer feedback turns into concrete support
The donation was raised as part of the annual customer survey. For every response submitted, SynFlex donated 5 euros to a good cause. “Facilities such as the ‘Kinderreich im Paradies’ are far more than just childcare centres,” explains Hubertus Hasse, Managing Partner of SynFlex Elektro GmbH. “Now more than ever, children need places where they can experience a sense of community, safety and genuine attention. We are therefore all the more delighted to be able to help create an outdoor area here once again that brings joy to children and encourages them to play, be active and explore.”
Brit Holst, head of the nursery, also emphasises the importance of such support: “Without donations, we cannot redesign the outdoor area to be child-friendly and durable. That is why we are incredibly grateful for any support.”
Through this support, SynFlex also aims to raise awareness of the project and encourage more people and businesses to get involved.
